Abstract

The value of $A 0 =2.671$ $c m −1$ obtained form the $a n a l y s i s 1$ of the $ν 10 (E g)$ band of $C 2 H 6$ near $2969 c m −1$ has been verified. The $ν 10$ (C-H stretch) band was recorded with the University of Tennessee high resolution Raman spectrometer. Both polarized and depolarized spectra were taken. The elimination of the strongly polarized totally symmetric band overlapping $ν 10 (ν 1,2 ν 8,2 ν 11)$ revealed the entire band contour for the first time. Band contour analysis of the complete band verified the value of $A 0$ .
