Abstract
Collaboration, curriculum, and evidence based practice are all important areas of practice for school based speech language pathologists (SLPs). Although some research has addressed similar topics, information is lacking concerning school based SLPs assessments of their knowledge in these areas and their views of how important such knowledge is. This study was designed to reveal the disparities between what SLPs feel they know and how much they feel they should know concerning collaboration, curriculum, and evidence based practice. School based SLPs in Ohio were contacted requesting their participation in this study. An on-line questionnaire probed their knowledge and values related to collaboration, curriculum, and evidence based practice. The findings of this questionnaire shows there is a disparity in the areas of collaboration, curriculum and evidence based practice when looking at what SLPs feel they should know verse what they actually know.
