Abstract

Infrared spectra in the range 250−4000cm−1 in the gas, liquid, and matrix-isolated states and Raman spectra in the liquid state were measured for the following isotopically substituted 2-butenes: cis and trans- C4D8, and cis and trans- CH3CDCDCH3. While the assignments of earlier workers have been generally confirmed, these more extensive, higher resolution data have allowed a more complete assignment to be made especially for the methyl group modes. This work was funded under the Foundational Research Program of the Naval Ordnance Systems Command.
