Infrared spectra in the range $250-4000cm-1$ in the gas, liquid, and matrix-isolated states and Raman spectra in the liquid state were measured for the following isotopically substituted 2-butenes: cis and trans- $C4D8$, and cis and trans- $CH3CDCDCH3$. While the assignments of earlier workers have been generally confirmed, these more extensive, higher resolution data have allowed a more complete assignment to be made especially for the methyl group modes.
