Abstract
A complete vibrational analysis of carbonyl cyanide $(CO(CN)_{2})$ and diethynyl ketone $(CO(C=CH)_{2})$ has recently been carried out. The results of this analysis were utilized in a normal coordinate analysis of the two molecules. Attention will be focussed on the diagonal and off-diagonal force constants associated with the C-C-C and C-C-O angles. The results for the two molecules will be compared and contrasted.
