Equilibrium molecular constants have been calculated for the ground state of the $\mathrm{<mrow\; data-mjx-texclass="ORD">12</mrow>}C16O$ molecule incorporating the most recent high precision measurements of CO laser spectra and CO flame emission spectra. Calculated line positions for high J values agree favorably with the line positions reported in the literature for stellar and solar spectra; the only exception being high J lines reported in the 7-6 band of sunspot spectra. The agreement between 2nd order RKR calculations of D(v) and H(v) which are relatively insensitive to input data agree very well for the first time with H(v) values determined from experimental data. The calculation and utilization of these constants will be discussed.
