Austrian lawyer, joined Nazis in 1932. After Anschluss [he] was made SS Major General, Reichstag member, and Head of Security. In 1943 he succeed[ed] Heydrich as Head of the Gestapo, Criminal Police, and SS Security. Administered concentration camps and [the] Final Solution. He was found guilty of crimes against humanity and war crimes."
