Knowledge Bank

The Raman spectra of C-13 enriched acetylene crystals in the low temperature phase have been obtained. The samples were deuterated by exchange in the vapor phase and spectra of the -$d2$ crystals also obtained. These C-13 enriched spectra have been compared with chose of natural abundance acetylene crystals with the goals of understanding the crystalline interactions and of explaining the anomalies in the $\nu 4$ bending mode.
