Abstract

Air spectra with path lengths from 10 m to 1 km together with solar spectra have been obtained between 700cm−1 and 2600cm−1 using Fourier transform spectroscopy with a nominal resolution of 0.125 cm−1. These have been compared with synthetic spectra calculated by using the AFCRL line listing.1 The agreement between the spectra and the use of this technique to estimate abundances of atmospheric gases is discussed.
