Abstract

Absolute intensities have been measured for the fundamental bands of $CF_{3}Br$, using the extrapolation technique of Wilson and Wells, at a total pressure of one atmosphere. These have been interpreted in terms of bond moments and derivatives, using normal coordinates calculated from the potential function of McGee, et al. (J. Chem. Phys., 21, 242 (1953)). While the sign ambiquity is not completely removed, there is one choice which seems most favorable. The relationship between these results and those for other $CF_{3}- x$ molecules will be discussed.
