A tunable laser spectrometer has been used to measure the Shapes of several lines in the R-branch of the 15 $\mu m$ $CO2$ band. Measurements were made on a dilute mixture of $CO2$ in $N2$ over the pressure range 5-100 Torr. Measured lineshapes were compared to calculated lineshapes using the Voigt profile, with particular emphasis on the Lorentz wings, out to 50 half widths from line center.”
