Abstract

Clustering of octahedral and tetrahedral levels is shown to occur for a model Hamiltonian of the $\nu_{2} +\nu_{3}$ or $\nu_{2} + \nu_{4}$ combination band due to a Coriolis interaction. Cluster correlation diagrams are shown for cases where the pure Vibrational splitting Is both large and small compared to the Coriolis splitting. Approximate formulas are derived for the cluster levels in both cases.
