Abstract

Rotational Coherence Spectroscopy (RCS) using time correlated single photon counting has been applied to the molecules p-cyclohexylaniline and 2,5-diphenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole (PPD). The technique has also been applied to aggregates of PPD with alkanes and hydrogen bonded species. Time and polarization resolved fluorescence decays were compared with simulations to obtain the rotational constants of each system. This work is being extended to include the pump-probe version of RCS to study molecular complexes of perylene and xanthione.
