Abstract

The low frequency vibrations of $CH_{3}PCl_{2}, CH_{3}POCl_{2}, CH_{2}PSCl_{2}, CH_{3}POF_{2}$ and $CH_{3}POFCl$ have been obtained in the infrared and Raman spectra. The observed bands are assigned to skeletal vibrations, methyl torsional modes, and intermolecular fundamentals of the lattices. Barriers to methyl rotation have been calculated and will be presented. The vibrational spectra of several organophosphorus molecules which contain two methyl rotators have been recorded and vibrational assignments will be presented.
