Abstract

Rotational analyses of the c4(0) X(0) and b(1)←X(0) bands of nitrogen have been completed. Interaction between the c4(0) and b(1) levels was completely analyzed by the deperturbation technique of Kovacs.1 The rotational constants derived with a matrix parameter, H12=5.10 cm−1, are: $$C^{\prime}{4}(0): T{0} = 104322.9 \ cm^{-1},\ B_{0} = 1.9308\ cm^{-1}, D_{0} =8.0 \times 10^{-5}\ cm^{-1}$$ $$b^{\prime}(1): T_{1} = 104417.7 \ cm^{-1},\ B_{1} = 1.1514 \ cm^{-1}, D_{1} = 1.7 \times 10^{-5} \ cm^{-1}.$$ The isotope bands of the same systems were also analyzed for 15N2 and 14N15N and the results will be discussed.1
