Abstract
The author has in his four former reports—Reports l, 2, 3, 4 of the Institute of Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, issued in 1959—applied different methods for computation of the gravity anomalies and other related quantities at different elevations. In his present paper he describes a method, obviously not applied earlier, for this purpose. It differs from the previous ones in that it is based on the solution of the Laplace equation in terms of Bessel functions. He uses also the cylindrical coordinate system instead of the rectangular one because it fits better in these computations. The needed formulas are given and the practical procedure is explained and illustrated by different figures and tables. This method is useful in the computation of the effect of the gravity anomaly field not too far from the computation points where the curvature of the earth will not interfere too much.
