A three-quarter length portrait of Amy Lowell with transparent eyeglass lenses, her left hand resting beneath her bosom. She stands facing left in a garden with two large butterflies circling her head. The plate was altered to create a second-state impression [CMA 2001.034.008], where Lowell's glasses appear opaque and her left hand rests closer to her hip. Chafetz drilled holes and removed cloud-shaped sections in the plate to create a high relief effect, a technique which can also be seen in Good Morning [CMA 1972.045]. A study drawing for these impressions also exists.
