Abstract

Both the $\alpha$ and $\beta$ crystalline forms of hexafluoroethane have been studied using single crystal x-ray methods at $80^{\circ}K$ and $123^{\circ}K$. These studies in conjunction with the infrared and Raman spectra of polycrystalline hexafluoroethane will be used to interpret the vibrational spectra and determine the crystal structure.
