Abstract

Last fall, Eileen McDonnell worked on an assignment about identity with seven other students from the United States and Middle East. Each student started with seven aspects of their identity, and then gradually removed items until they were left with the three most important. To McDonnell’s surprise, every single student had kept religion as one of the most important aspects of his or her identity. This was just one of the discussions made possible during Richard Herrmann’s Foreign Policy Decision Making class by technology from a company called Soliya.
