Abstract

We have obtained photoacoustic spectra of the C-H overtones of HCN, C2H2, and their isotopically substituted analogs in the 14,000−18,500cm−1 region with Doppler-limited resolution. Spectroscopic constants for the observed bands will be presented and discussed. In order to understand these highly excited vibrational states, we have attempted to model the spectra. The results of classical trajectory calculations and variational calculations will be presented.
