Abstract

The fluorescence quantum yield of a number of terbium 8-diketone chelates in alcoholic solutions have been determined. Using a measurement technique based on Bowen ‘s method, using quinine bisulfate as a standard, the fluorescence quantum yield of the terbium chelates was found to range from 0.10 to 0.30. ``Inner-filter” corrections are of particular importance in these measurements and our data analysis technique will be described.
