TUNABLE DIODE LASER MEASUREMENTS OF THE ABSOLUTE INTENSITIES OF NU2/NU5 IN $^{12}CH_{3}F$ AND THE DETERMINATION OF THE VIBRATIONAL TRANSITION MOMENTS

Abstract
The absolute line intensities for more than 200 vibrational rotational absorption lines of transitions to the vibrational states $v_{2}$ = 1 and $v_{5}$ = 1 were measured for $^{12}CH_{3}F$ using a tunable diode laser. Measurements were made with sample pressures of one Torr or less using a 60cm pathlength absorption cell, and the identification of lines was facilitated significantly by the use of line lists, with assignments, resulting from the ro-vibrational analysis of Papousek, et al.$^{(1)}$ Experimental details will be discussed in this paper. The determination of vibrational transition moments will be discussed by Papousek, et al. in a separate at this symposium.
