Abstract
Low resolution microwave spectroscopic studies of 2-butyl Fluoroformate, chloroformate, and cyanoformate indicate three conformations of nearly equal stability in each compound. The preferred conformations about the 0-butyl bond are analogous to the conformation observed in isopropyl esters and is a combination of the two most stable conformations observed in ethyl esters. There are weaker band series in the spectra of the fluoroformate. [FIGURE] Observed conformational Assignment $B+C$ values Dihedral angles, ${0^{\circ}} = $ syn planar
