Abstract
A SLO-SYN Buffered Translator, allowing a SLO-SYN Stepping Motor to be driven by commands from a computer, digital control or other device which operates on a fixed pulse rate was used to replace the conventional scan servo, which usually is powered by a synchronous motor. The routines to operate the Spectrometer will be briefed. The advantage and improvement, in determining the line position will be discussed. Some new ideas will be presented for processing digital information for vibration rotation spectra to achieve completely computerized line position measurements which includes the production of a plot of the spectra on the chart paper with all the measurements clearly and properly indicated. The ‘savitzky Peakfinder $Program’^{1}$ adopted to our computer system, with some modifications and adjustments, plays the central role in the line position measurement program. Loomis-Wood plots, using the output file of the measurement program as input, can be handily produced, if needed. Every step is achieved by two or three simple commands. The effectiveness of the system will be discussed.
