Abstract

Calcium mononmide, $CaNH_{2}$, is formed by the reaction of calcium vapor with hydrazine or (less efficiently) with ammonia. The $C(^{2}A_{1}-X(^{2}A_{1})$ system, which correlates with the $B(^{2}\Sigma)-X(^{2}\Sigma)$ system of the hydroxides and halides, exhibits a featureless chemiluminescent emission centered at 5780 {\AA}. Low resolution laser excitation spectra of this system is rich in spectral features, including a number of apparent P-branch heads, the strongest of which occurs at 5758 {\AA}. Results of current efforts to analyze the system through single modo laser excitation and partially resolved photoluminescence will be reported.
