Abstract
Consecutive two-photon absorption has bean used to probe the fluorescent properties of a number of different species. Further excitation of the excited singlet stated of Several small aromatic molecules has resulted In unambiguous identification of fluorescence front highly excited states with subpicosecond lifetimes. Free radical photoproducts have been studied by fluorescence excitation, by which both the generation process and the photophiysical properties of the radicals can be studied. Benzophenone ketyl has been used to probe the dependence of rapid intersystem crossing on molecular environment.
