Abstract
Simplified expressions have been developed for the engineering emissivity of uniformly distributed diatomic gases for nonoverlapping rotational lines with a resonance contour. Unfortunately the rotational half-widths for spectral lines arising from transitions between excited vibrational energy levels are generally not known.
