AMMONIA VIBRATIONAL BANDS BETWEEN $6500 CM^{-1}$ AND $12000 CM^{-1}$: ROTATIONAL ASSIGNMENT BASED ON MICROWAVE-OPTICAL DOUBLE RESONANCE

Abstract
The microwave-detected microwave-optical double resonance method has been extended into the IR as far as $6500 cm^{-1}$ by double Raman-shifting the pulsed dye laser source. Ammonia bands now being analysed include the region of 2 quanta of the N-H stretch at $6700 cm^{-1}$, and other bands at $9200 cm^{-1}, 10200 cm^{-1}, 10800 cm^{-1}, and 11200 cm^{-1}$. The analyses are based on high-resolution absorption spectra at dry-ice and room temperture provided by Don Ramsey and Bill Neal of the Herzberg Institute, and well as the double resonance data. Current results will be discussed.
