This program is a one week long, intensive and immersive program in creative writing for high school students. It takes place during the summer of the 10th or 11th grade years. The program is free to anyone who is accepted and admissions to the program are based on writing samples. This means that grades, gender, and socioeconomic class play no part in the selection.

IMPACT. 1: Program Director Michelle Herman works with a staff of Ohio State University faculty, graduate MFA alumni, and current graduate students. There are also sessions with visiting writers, songwriters, playwrights, and journalists. -- 2. The students get to attend daily workshops to help improve their craft as well as more specialized workshops in other areas such as writing for TV, play writing, or song writing. -- 3. Previously the applications had been limited to just Columbus City School students, but for the upcoming year applications are being accepted from charter schools within the district as well.
