Abstract

The IC-R2PI spectrum of indole-d6 has been obtained and an analysis made for the vibronic bands which are displaced up to $700 cm^{-1}$ from the origin. This analysis allows some conclusions to be drawn concerning [he locations of the $L_{a}$ and $L_{b}$ electronic states as well as information on the vibronic structure of The electronic states of indole. Additional information has been obtained for the nature of The electronic stiles of the 4-, 5-, 6-fluoroindoles from their infrared and Raman spectra and from their 1C-R2PI electronic spectra.
