Abstract

“The infrared spectra of hexafluorodisilane and hexafluorodisiloxane have been investigated from 5000 to $30cm^{-1}$. Some Raman frequencies have also been found for hexafluorodisilane. The hexafluorodisiloxane molecule obeys $D_{3d}$ selection rules, but the structure of the spectrum is complex in the region of the Si-O-Si asymmetric stretching fundamental. Possible interpretations of this structure will be discussed.”
