Abstract

The rotational analysis of the A~X~ band system in C2D2 put forward rovibrational perturbations in the ground electronic state (1), araising because of the proximity of the two bending frequencies, ν4 (trans-bend at 511.5cm−1) and ν5 (cis-bend at 538.6cm−1) through Darling-Dennison, rotational and vibrational -doubling interactions (2). The far infrared (20−150cm−1) and infrared (400−600cm−1) absorption spectrum, recorded with the modified Bomem DA 3.002 Fourier Tansform Spectrometer of the Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics, is analyzed with the aim to bring information on the excited bending levels. Preliminary results will be presented.
