Abstract

The electric dipole moments of $d^{3}\Delta_{i}$ v = 4 and v = 6 carbon monoxide have been measured to be 0.42 $\pm 0.02$ Debye and $0.28 \pm 0.02$ Debye, respectively. The values were determined from laser Stark spectra using a single mode jet-stream dye laser and an electric resonance molecular beam spectrometer. The measurement of the electric dipole moment in other vibrational states is in progress. Comparison of the results will be made with current theoretical work.
