Abstract
“Infrared absorption spectra of LiC1, LiBr, and LiI vapors have been measured with a small grating spectrometer in the region of the fundamental vibration frequency. The absorptions previously reported1 are now definitely assigned to diatomic molecules. Considerably more accurate vibration frequencies together with anharmonic constants have been obtained. These data when combined with microwave measurements2 provide values for the first six derivatives of the potential energy curve. Other weak absorptions have now been observed and are assigned as the infrared active fundamentals of the dimeric molecules.3”
