Abstract

Colophon: Fountainhead was created by Kiki Smith at the Logan Elm Press and Papermill, the Arts of the Book Laboratory of The Ohio State University, Summer 1991. The images were printed from photoengraved plates on Abaca paper made at the press. This book is being published in conjunction with a catalog designed by Kiki Smith and Oscar Fernandez for an exhibition of recent and past work by the artist being co-curated by Linda Shearer and Claudia Gould, and organized by the Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown, Massachusetts in 1992; this exhibition will travel to the Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, in the same year. This book is dedicated to Claudia Gould. Special appreciation is given to Liza McLaughlin, Kiki Smith's assistant, and to Christopher Jones, Jacqueline Boyle and Russell mcKnight for making the paper and printing the final edition of this book.
