ANALYSIS OF THE K-STRUCTURE OF THE TORSIONAL FUNDAMENTAL OF ACETALDEHYDE
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
Complicated subband patterns observed in off-central regions of the torsional fundamental (measured with $0.3 cm^{-1}$ spectral resolution) were analyzed in the framework of a semirigid symmetric rotor model. The main results, which will be discussed in comparison with model calculations, are a unique K-assignment over a considerable region of the band and estimates for the frequencies of the pure torsional transitions $0(A)\rightarrow 1(A) (143.63 cm_{-1})$ and $0(E)\rightarrow 1(E) (142.10 cm^{-1})$.
