THERMODYNAMICS OF EXCIPLEX FORMATION BY TIME-RESOLVED NANOSECOND FLASH SPECTROSCOPY
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
Exciplexes are of great interest because of their possible intermediacy in many photochemical reactions. We have utilized a combination of time-resolved nanosecond flash spectroscupy and steady state quantum yield measurements to obtain an almost complete analysis of exciplex formation and decay pathways. The advantages and limitations of this method will be discussed. Results for four exciplexes, two reactive towards cycloaddition and two unreactive, will be presented.
