dc.description.abstractDouble ionization potentials corresponding to the formation of the lower-lying electronic states of $NH_{3}^{++}$ and $C_{2}H_{4}^{++}$ have been measured by means of double charge transfer spectroscopy. The measurements are compared with the results of accurate ab initio SCF-CI calculations on $NH_{3}^{++}$ and $C_{2}H_{4}^{++}$ Good agreement between calculated and experimental double ionization potentials is obtained, leading to a full interpretation of the double charge transfer spectra of $NH_{3}$ and $C_{2}H_{4}$en_US
