MILLIMETER- AND SUBMILLIMETER-WAVE SPECTRUM OF THE SLIGHTLY ASYMMETRIC ROTOR $CH_{2}DF$

Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
The light, slightly asymmetric rotor $CH_{2}DF (K = -0.978)$ has been studied in the millimeter- and submillimeter-wave region. The small b-axis component of the dipole moment, caused by the deuterium substitution, makes possible the observation of weak b-type transitions and the direct calculation of the A rotational constant. These transitions along with the strong a-type transitions make possible an accurate calculation of the rotation-distortion parameters of this molecule. Preliminary rotational constants are (in MHz): A = 119 673.64, B = 24 043.40, C = 22 959.42.
