PULSED SATURATION: DETERMINATION OF ABSORPTION COEFFICIENTS WITHOUT MEASURING CONCENTRATIONS
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
Measurements of pulsed laser induced fluorescence as a function of pulse energy may be used to determine the transition moment and hence the absorption coefficient. At high pulse energies the fluorescence reaches a limiting saturation value. We report preliminary measurements on sodium atoms.
