Abstract
Difluorohydroxyborane is a planar, slightly asymmetric top (x = 0.92). In the millimeter-wave region it displays compact groups of lines at intervals equal to twice the rotational constant, C. These groups consist of Q-branch bands super imposed upon a finite set of strong R-branch transitions. The observed patterns, characteristic of perpendicular transitions of a planar, oblate top, greatly facilitated the identification of this species. The centimeter-wave spectrum is quite dense and does not yield to assignment so readily. Evidence for rotation of the OH group has not been observed.
