A HIGH RESOLUTION SPECTROSCOPIC STUDY OF BENZOIC ACID
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
The absorption and phosphorescence spectra benzoic acid in benzene, nonane, bibenzyl, and cyclohexane carboxylic acid matrices have been measured at $4.2^{\circ} K$. All spectra are sharp allowing vibrational analysis. Spin orbital and vibronic coupling mechanisms will be discussed, as well as the role of monomer and dimer species of benzoic acid in the spectra.
