SEMI-ANALYTICAL GREEN'S FUNCTIONS AND APPLICATION TO PURE AND MIXED BENZENE EXCITION SPECTRA

Analytical Green’s functions for one and two-dimensional crystals have been derived in terms of complete elliptic integrals of the first, second and third kind. Green’s functions for three-dimensional crystals can be represented as integrals of the above complete elliptic integrals. These ``semi-analytical’’ Green’s functions are more accurate than previously derived Green’s functions, their analytical properties can be easily determined and, in addition, they require less computer time. Applications will be given for density-of-states and spectra of some pure and mixed crystal benzene excitons, with emphasis on cluster (dimer) states.
