Dr. Mary Pat Borgess discusses her career as a radiologist, a path she chose during medical school at Ohio State and which eventually led her to chair the radiology department at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She also discusses trying to balance her demanding work with family life, raising two sons with her husband Chris, who also is a doctor. She talks about people who have mentored her, and she discusses replicating their guidance, by consulting with young partners to demonstrate that she values their perspective and trusts their competence. Borgess says she hopes she is ultimately remembered by both colleagues and patients as someone who showed kindness and helped people through difficulties.en_US
