PRESSURE-INDUCED FAR-INFRARED SPECTRUM OF ETHYLENE
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
A pressure-induced far-infrared spectrum has been observed for the ethylene molecule. The absorption which depends on the square of the pressure is similar to, but weaker than, that previously observed in allene (OSU, sympos, 1969, M9). Pressure path lengths up to 75 atm.m were used. Effects of foreign gases and temperature on the absorption will be discussed.
