dc.description.abstract | Employing a ten-meter vacuum infrared grating spectrograph equipped with a 40 grooves per mm grating, spectral positions accurate to better than $\pm 0.005 cm^{-1}$ were obtained for the CO laser lines occurring in the region 5--8 $\mu$ involving vibrational levels to v = 32 in the ground electronic state of CO. A Q-switched liquid nitrogen cooled CO laser was used as a source. A least squares program was employed to determine a set of molecular constants by simultaneously fitting the laser measurements with previously published precision data obtained in absorption and emission. | en_US |
