dc.description.abstractThe visible fluorescence spectrum of iodine has been used for over fifty years as a source of experimental information on vibrational and rotational relaxation cross sections. With the data now in hand, we are in a good position to make some general conclusions regarding the efficiency of these processes as a function of the vibrational energy content of the molecule.en_US
