INFRARED SPECTRA AND REACTIONS OF MATRIX ISOLATED $NH_{4}$ AND $HClO_{4}$
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
“Diffusion experiments have been conducted on $NH_{4}$ and $HClO_{4}$ in a $N_{2}$ matrix at cryogenic temperatures. Two distinct exotherms have been observed. The spectral changes that accompany these exotherms suggest: (1) the first process is represented by the formation of polymeric species of ammonia, and (2) the second process involves the formation of $NH_{4}ClO_{4}$. Some interesting rotational effects of the isolated $HClO_{4}$ molecule will be discussed.”
