Abstract

“The transition moments and the oscillator strengths ``$f_{th}$,’’ for the absorption spectra of some conjugated molecules with their positive and negative ions are calculated, The free electron model taking into account the branching of the chain has been used. The intensities ``$f_{\exp}$’’ for some of the absorption bands and the corresponding oscillator strengths ``$F_{th}$’’ for these molecules are compared.”
