Polata knigopisnaia 4 (March 1981) publishes studies that were prepared in advance of the Symposium on the Transmission and Reception of the Early Christian Paterika, held in Nijmegen, Holland, April 6-8, 1981. The conference is reviewed in Polata knigopisnaia 6 (December 1982): 64-66.
De Elizalde offers the results of his review and research on Jose Gerlades Freire's 1971 edition of the Latin Apophthegma of Paschasius of Dumium, "A versão latina por Pascásio de Dume dos Apophthegmata patrum" (Coimbra: Instituto de estudos clássicos, 1971). De Elizalde indicates that the text clarifies the origin and text of another Latin apophthegmata, the "Commonitiones Sanctorum Patrum," which, as the editors note, is known in Slavic as part of the Skitskii Paterik. The Latin text of De Virtutibus from R. Draguet's edition is given with the corresponding passages in the text of Paschasius of Dumium noted.
