INFRARED SPECTRA OF PURE CRYSTALLINE N PARAFFINS D
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
“The infrared spectra of a series of crystalline N-Paraffins from N-C 20 II 42 thru N-C 29 H 60 are reported. The frequencies of roeking and wagging modes can be accounted for satisfaetorily on the basis of a simple “coupled oscillator” model. Intermolecular splitring of rocking mode absorption bands of odd numbered N-Paraffins having the orthorhombie crvstal structure vield intermolecular force constants between methylene groups. Interpretation of these constants is discussed.”
